Kibble Pet Food Bank
The Kibble Pet Food Bank Network strives to help pets BEFORE they are surrendered to an SPCA animal shelter. Donated pet food and supplies are distributed to the public, and are not used to feed animals at the shelters.
By providing information, pet food, and supplies to pet owners facing financial challenges, we are helping keep animals in the homes that love them. This is far less stressful on the pets and the people who care for them, and helps ease the overcrowding at SPCA shelters.
Your support and donations have helped us reduce pet surrenders at the Oromocto and Area SPCA, and stop other pets from being abandoned along the roadside. We look forward to helping even more families and pets in 2010!

From Vanessa Packman-NBSPCA
Good morning, Kibble members!
I have some great news to start your week. Thanks to your hard work and being part of Atlantic Canada's first pet food bank network, our project has reached an important milestone.
Our NBSPCA Kibble network has now helped its 5,000th pet, and has provided more than 25,000 bowls of food!
Twenty-seven months since we launched the network in October 2008, we are serving an increasing number of cats, dogs and livestock around New Brunswick through our six outlets. Along with the original goal of serving families needing temporary help to feed their animals, our purpose has since expanded. We now assist families with caring for their pets in times of emergencies such as fires, accidents and flooding. Along with the growing emphasis on education on how to provide cost effective pet care.
We also run an active list of livestock feed sources, pet-friendly housing and other topics. Our newest service, Friday Finds, provides notices of weekly sales on pet care products to more than 60 shelters, supporters and animal owners. Anyone wishing to receive this weekly email can easily do so by sending their email address to kibblecanada@gmail.com
Thank you again for all you do to keep our Kibble network humming. I'm bowled over by what we have accomplished together.
