Happy Tails

We love to get updates about our adopted pets. They all become part of our extended family and we miss them all but are so happy to hear about how they are doing in their Forever Homes.

If would like to send us a Happy Tail please feel free to do so via e-mail or regular mail.

Here are just a few of our Happy Tails!

Not sure how to post pictures to your wall or share them with you from mine so here is a couple of Sophie. She is having quite the time sniffing out her new digs. She is getting along with Bailey and Cricket really well.

I just wanted to thank you and the Oromocto Shelter for allowing me to adopt "Chewy-Girl" who has been renamed "Rosie". She is a perfect Gem. She follows me around the house constantly and sleeps with me. Tomorrow I am taking her to Woodstock to my vet., Dr.
Ted Mouris for her rabies shot so I can cross the border. She is great in the car too.
My daughter and I took her to Pet Smart to get her a bed and toys and she walked all around and enjoyed everyone petting her. She was not even afraid when a Saint Bernard passed close to her. The only time I have heard her bark is in her sleep once.
A more perfect little lady there never was.

Thank you so much.

Hi,

I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know how well Aura is settling in. She is very happy and getting lots of love and attention...and returning the same to us. She has complete trust in me
now and is well on her way with Scott. She's also won over my parents who have come to visit her a few times. Yesterday she was down on her front legs, tail wagging in the air trying to get my father to play
with her in the backyard! He, of course, did!
She's also getting braver on our walks and is interested in other dogs…and people from a bit of a distance. She thinks bicycles are just
plain weird though. Squirrels on the other hand are fascinating!
This afternoon she is off to the vet for her booster shot and a check up. Hopefully that goes well. We've given them a heads up that she is very shy and particularly nervous around men.
Anyway, I just thought you'd like to hear how well she is doing. Thanks so much for all that you do…and for bringing us together with this very special dog!

Sincerely,
~Andrea

Hi there,

We adopted Apollo (now Charlie) on August 24, 2009. These are some pictures of
him last summer. He's doing great and is a wonderful addition to the family!!!

Just another little update about Emerald. She's doing great so far. She is still a bit
shy towards my husband but she is starting to come around. I take her for
walks out in the field and trails in beside our house (in the woods) off
leash and she absolutely loves it and listens well. It's great to see her
come out of her shell. She loves the brook back there as well. She jumps
through it tail way up in the air. I'll try to remember to bring my camera
on our next walk so you can see how happy she is.

Hi!

Here is a picture of my beautiful Angora baby, Clover, who I adopted on May 10th from your shelter! She is so calm and sweet- I couldn't have asked for a more perfect bunny. I am glad these sweet bunnies got great homes!

Hello Oromocto SPCA!

I just wanted to give you an update on how Stallone is doing. We (my husband, Jamie, and I) adopted Stallone last Monday. We have renamed him Rocky (keeping with the theme of ‘Stallone’) as we thought he kind of had a rocky start to life, and even a rocky start with his new life with us (he pooped in the carrier not two minutes after we left the SPCA). He had a ‘rocky’ introduction to our house as we had to give him a bath as soon as we could get him out of his carrier. He has since calmed down and is now the king of the castle! He loves playing with his toys, watching the world through the front window and getting snacks before bed time. He has been a great addition to our family and he seems to like it here too. I’ve attached a photo of my husband and Rocky after they were looking out the window.

Thank you for taking care of Rocky (aka Stallone) the last few months! He misses his friends and says hi to all!

Nobody ignore that when people move to another house, many of them leave their pets behind. ...such a nonsense....

Here I just write this message to share with you guys that we are soon moving to Quebec City and for sure our Boys are moving along with us. No way to abandon them !

Our Boys are Jack and Tom, 2 sweet kitties from your SPCA, adopted in August 2006 and in January 2007. They are now 4 years old each and are just wonderful loving kitties!

By the way, you Tracy and your team are doing a tremendous job at the SPCA and you deserve many thanks and recognition for what you're doing! All you do for those sweet little souls will be rewarded in a way or another!

For sure we are going to visit you with Jack and Tom in a few weeks from here before our departure for Quebec!

A Bientôt!

Hello Everyone,
Luna continues to thrive and be a going concern. She rarely is without a ball or stick in her mouth. I suspect the ?? of her lab/shepherd? heritage is very probably sheltie!!
She was 43lbs 3 wks ago but is very fine boned and has this really crazy little sheltie wiggle in her rear end. I love her, we all love her and she is the darling of the family.
We now have chickens and Luna comes into the coop with me with no problem. The two old lady cats have endured no end of enthusiastic play and they especially love it when Luna licks their ears....most surprising as I would never have expected them to take to her so well. Twink, the shep/husky has not run away since Luna got big enough to really play and boy! do they play...it is wild.
She travels well in the car, is a sweetie and has no aggressive characteristics that I can see. She even has a loving relationship with all the vet staff! (Compared to Ms Nervous Nellie Twink who-at 65 lbs-I have to carry into the clinic)
Absolutely no regrets! Many thanks and keep up the good work, Christine

Hello to the Members of the Oromocto SPCA,

Ryan Boucher and myself, Tiffany McEachern wanted to send a picture and an update on our puppy Chloe. We adopted her a few months ago from you and we have been very happy to have her in our home. She is doing very well. She loves going for walks and loves to play. She listens very well, learns very quickly, and is very well-behaved. She loves to be cuddled.
She is definitely a sookie. We love her very much. Thank-you!

Hi there,

I received your phone message last week and just remembered so I thought I'd email. Lily is great!!! We love her. She can be full of energy though. She has adjusted well. She loves playing in the water at our camp on Grand Lake. She and our 2 year have a love/hate relationship but our 11 year old looks after her very well.(He even does the poop scooping!)
We have a kennel for her and she actually goes in it by herself when she wants alone time!!!! I am not sure why someone would let a great dog like her go or whatever happened.........
I have attatched a couple of new pictures. Thanks again for our wondeful pet friend!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL FROM ONE HAPPY DOG!!

I HAVE HAD A BUSY YEAR, TURNING ONE, GETTING BIG, CHASING BALLS AND FRISBEES AND OTHER DOGS AND SWIMMING. I AM PRETEND BRAVE BUT WE SORT OF KEEP THAT A SECRET. MY BIG SISTER, TWINK, AND I ARE ON THE GO ALL DAY LONG. WE HAVE A PLAY FRIEND WHO STOPS BY SOME DAYS AND WE ALL RUN UNTIL WE DROP. OUR ALPHIE IS TOO OLD TO PLAY BUT HE KEEPS AN EYE ON US AND BARKS IF WE DO SOMETHING WRONG.

I REALLY LIKE OUR CHICKENS AND GO IN THE COOP WITH THEM (THERE ARE 35, YOU KNOW) AND TEASE THEM WITH MY BIG GREEN BALL. I THINK THEY THINK IT IS AN EGG.

MY GREEN BALL IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE I ALMOST DIED THIS SUMMER. I HAD ANAPHALACTIC SHOCK. WE THINK IT WAS A COMBINATION OF THE CHEAP BALLS I WAS GOING THROUGH LIKE A CRAZY PUPPY PLUS I WAS ALSO STUNG BY A BEE (WELL, I THOUGHT IT LOOKED TASTY...) BOTH THINGS AT THE SAME TIME WAS NOT GOOD A GOOD IDEA. LUCKILY I MADE IT TO THE VET IN RECORD TIME AND, AFTER INJECTIONS AND STUFF, I WAS OK. (MY MOTHER WAS A WRECK.) WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO BE VERRRRY CAREFUL THIS SUMMER.

BUT I CAN HAVE MY GREEN BALL BECAUSE IT IS MADE OF GOOD RUBBER AND I AM NOT ALLOWED TO LOSE IT BECAUSE IT COSTS A FORTUNE. BUT I'M WORTH IT!!!!

I TURNED ONE A FEW WEEKS AGO AND IN JANUARY I WILL BE ADOPTED FOR ONE WHOLE YEAR! THANK YOU GUYS FOR FINDING ME A GOOD HOME AND TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF ME WHEN I WAS SO LITTLE.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL AND THANKS AGAIN! LUNA

Stevie is settling in comfortably at her new home. She brings much joy to her new owner Tracy. She loves to play with her toys and bones and going to the dog park!
Thanks SPCA!!!!

Hello,

We adopted 2 kittens from the Oromocto SPCA in November this year. Lisa called last week and left a message to see how we were doing with them. Sorry I have been busy and have not had a chance to call back.

The kittens are doing great! They are adorable. Since they were born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia and they flip and flop around, we decided to call them Flip and Flop.

As you can see from the attached pictures they have adjusted well and love their new home :)

Merry Christmas and enjoy the holidays!

Hello,

Just an update for you from the Donovan household....

Sadie (who we adopted on December 7th ish) is adjusting very well and is now suffering from 'spoiled dog syndrome'. She is pretty much house-trained, with only occasional misshaps. Her walking style is still very 'excited', but she is getting better at walking politely. We have an appointment to have her groomed next week and will introduce her to our kennel family....although she will rarely stay there overnight, as our travels plans include taking Sadie to our cottage next summer.

We love her very much and are extremely pleased with our choice to get an SPCA dog this time!! And we think she likes us, too!

Thank you,
Mike and Lori Donovan

Hi,

Just wanted to let you know that our 2 cats that we adopted last summer
are doing incredibly well!

Blackie (who we renamed as he was called Turkey), and as you can see
from the attached picture, is a big baby and loves all the attention.
Sophie is still timid but loves to be petted/scratched (especially her
tummy), and although she is nervous with certain noises and strangers,
she's getting better all the time.

They get along great, playing with their catnip mice/toys, chasing each
other throughout the house and they are very good at using their
scratch
pads instead of the furniture! They have brought a lot of joy to our
home and are terrific company, although Blackie loves to take up a lot
of room by sleeping on our pillows every night!! Sophie is content with
sleeping on either the spare bed or in the closet.

We are so thankful for having taken the time to visit the SPCA and
bringing these 2 special friends into our lives.

Derrick and Raymah Hickey

I just wanted to thank you for helping Murphy become a part of our family. She has been with us for
a little over a week now and is settling in. She has been getting to
know our other critters and everyone is adjusting....she has befriended
one of our kitties named Emmy and has taken to following her
everywhere.
Murphy has learned her sit, stay and come commands and is very eager to
please. Thank you again for helping Mrs. Murphy find her forever home.

HI... this is Alyssa Symes again with an update. Feel free to put up some pictures of Gunner if you would like, Gunner is doing great learning basic obediance now but he is really smart so he is haveing no trouble.
We had a little excitment here today when Gunner decided to be too smart and figure out how to get his leash of outside but obediance training paid off and he came right back when I called him. We got his name tag yesterday as well. I believe I can safely say I am one of the proudest mommys on the street, he is such a good boy.

I adopted Jimbo- Jones a couple of weeks back. Thank you so much for helping me find the most perfect pup!! We love him so much. He is always swimming, hiking and playing fetch. We changed his name to Charlie and he seems to like it. Thank you so much again! :)

Got your phone message tonight about Bruno. He has settled right in with us. It is almost like we have had him the whole three years. He sticks to Stuart and I like glue, even sleeps in our room. The best part
is that Bruno and our Grandson are also the best of buds. Our grandson can basically climb all over him and Bruno just lays there, doesnt get upset at all. Yes we did keep his name, Bruno just suits him. He even went for a walk on the beach Saturday night and loved it.
I have also attached a couple of photos of him so you can see how he is doing.
There are no questions or concerns, he is doing fantastic.
Thanks for the inquirey though
Stuart and Karen Reeves
